Thank you for visiting my website. I have been drawing and painting since I could pick up a pencil or brush. My first commission was at the age of 14 and it was painting murals for a master bedroom of a villa in Scotland. The work was to echo the botanical pattern of the bedroom’s curtains. The mural took me three days to complete and I was paid £200 for my efforts which was a good wage in 1978.
Since completing my studies, both in Glasgow and Florence, I have been involved in a multitude of projects and commissions. This has included painting backcloths, props and sets for the Finnish National Theatre in Helsinki where I worked for over two years. I was also involved in a similar type of work for Cannon Films in Jaffa, Israel. There I worked on three film productions, The Emperor’s New Clothes, Puss in Boots and Rambo III.
I am skilled at many techniques, disciplines and crafts. These skills include painting Frescoes and Murals, Fine Art, Graphic Art & Design, Trompe-l’oeil, Faux Finishes, Scenic & Set Painting, Sign Writing & Lettering. I can paint artworks in many styles and themes, from traditional to decorative and contemporary. I can create frescoes in various techniques such as Buon Fresco, Mezzo Fresco and Secco Fresco. All artworks can be painted in either oil or water based paints if so requested.
